I took all the materials I’ve been collecting for-ev-er outside yesterday to the picnic/project table. I’ve been looking at this one picture of a stone cottage on a Caribbean Island and feeling so incredibly drawn to it! Yesterdays goal was to get one page of the LifeBuilder book done; the “home” page. I sorted through the thick stack of home pictures I’ve amassed, choosing the ones that I felt most enthusiastic about. I laid them out in various ways, adding extra fold-out parts and no matter what the arrangement I’d end up cutting out, overlaying or otherwise reducing the overall effect. So? The point is to have an image that stimulates your heart and imagination. So I hunted around, found a big piece of poster board 16” x 22” which worked great! After I got all the pictures on I put it in the hallway so I see it several times every day! I am very gratified I let my dream expand and grow instead of chipping away at it until it fit into some small, preconceived thing.
What a gift you have for bringing just the perfect amount of energy to something; you bring all the parts and pieces together but know exactly when to let go, step back and allow the energy of the moment to work its magic.
I love this goal of yours, of course as I adopted it! All those daily changes, adjustments and setting a good example for everyone else—excellent work! Take the day off!!
My step mother always had our family on one diet or another while I was growing up. Some days in high school after having a poached egg and 1/2 a grapefruit for breakfast I’d feel weak and have horrible headaches! That’s when I started being sneaky about food and eating like there was no tomorrow when I got a hold of something I liked. I can’t remember the moment this all dawned on me – that I’m an adult now, I can eat whatever I like anytime I like, I have control over what I get to have, nobody else does anymore! And here I was for the longest time, behaving as if my step mother was lurking somewhere ready to snatch that pumpkin scone from me and scold me for eating badly!! I admire your courage – you are always taking on such tough goals and then achieving them! Brava!!
in July! There was a heavy rain one night when I had 2 loads of clothes out to dry and cloudy and drizzly the next morning. I wash at least 3 times per week so curious if the electric bill will reflect anything? I got a nice steel compost bucket for the countertop. I was re-using empty sour-cream, yogurt containers etc. which was messy and stinky even if I emptied them into the outside compost every couple of days. The steel container has two charcoal filters in the lid so no smell whatsoever! We’ve always had cloth grocery bags but this last month we’ve been extra careful about having them on-hand in the car.
is just unbeatable isn’t it?Someday I will learn to make freezer jam and then you can help consume the fruit crop! And who knew – some sweetpeas are blooming! I planted them about a month late as we had a hard frost and snow in April here in Seattle!
